Mike Mayock’s only NFL mock draft: Buccaneers take Derwin James

A little under 24 hours away and Mayock drops his one and only yearly mock draft.

Florida State safety Derwin James is commonly linked to the Buccaneers drafting him with the No. 7 pick. That is courtesy of the major mock drafts tracked by SB Nation.

Joining in on that trend, NFL Media’s Mike Mayock released his only mock of the season with under 24 hours to go before the NFL Draft begins. And like the other mocks, Mayock sees the Bucs drafting James, too.

Mayock started doing just one draft per season (smart man). In this year’s draft he included a trade: The Buffalo Bills trade up with Indianapolis to draft quarterback Josh Allen sixth overall. He had five qurterbacks going in the first 16 picks with USC’s Sam Darnold going first overall to Cleveland.

For Bucs fans curious to know where the Big 3 went, Saquon Barkley went second overall to the Giants, Bradley Chubb went to Cleveland at No. 4, and Quenton Nelson went No. 5 to Denver.
