The Dallas Cowboys sent shockwaves through the NFL world on Friday when they released wide receiver Dez Bryant. Of course, many fans from many teams started getting excited over the mere fact of Bryant donning their favorite team’s colors.
That also included read and pewter.
Making matters worse, Evan Silva of RotoWorld posted this little nugget.
Dez Bryant requires QB willing to throw into tight coverage at this stage of career. NFL's most aggressive tight-window throwers among starting QBs in 2017 (Next Gen Stats):
— Evan Silva (@evansilva) April 13, 2018
1. Carson Wentz
2. Jameis Winston
3. Cam Newton
4. Matthew Stafford
5. Eli Manning
Ironically enough, those that complain about Jameis Winston making those tight, dangerous throws like the idea. But I digress.
Anyhow, the odds for Bryant signing with Tampa Bay are slim. For starters, the Buccaneers would have to sign him to a low salary prove it type of deal Bryant may not want. Secondly, if the Bucs cut DeSean Jackson (which was suggested) then the team would be out $7.5-million this season.
No matter how you try and spin it, it just wouldn’t make sense for the Buccaneers to go after Bryant. I wouldn’t hold my breath.
