Say what you will about Brent Grimes’ wife, but Miko Grimes usually provides an update on her husband’s potential future. At this moment, no decision has been made whether or not the Buccaneers will be bring back the veteran cornerback.
However, it appears Miko has provided insight as to why this has not happened. And it seems as though it has nothing to do with general manager Jason Licht.
Just dont blame Jason if it doesnt happen. He’s the GM, not the owner. GMs lay on the owners’ swords their entire career in the NFL. And they’ll never tell u bc its their job to take blame, even when it wasnt their fault. cc: Jeff Ireland in Miami (hey New Orleans ) https://t.co/4B00jirs3u

That is subject to interpretation. To me, she is saying that the Glazers have final say on Licht’s personnel decision to some degree. If true, that’s just bad business. This may shed some light on why Tampa Bay has been so bad for so long and that is because this ownership group should just let Licht and company work.
Granted, we don’t know the real truth. That’ll stay within the walls of One Buc Place. But do you recall the 2016 offseason when Miko made the “Jew buddies” comment and many labeled it anti-Semitic? Well, the Glazer family is Jewish so could it be that Miko’s comments then are influencing the decision now?
To not bring back your best cornerback from a year ago to a position that is depleted in talent, something doesn’t sound right.
