The 2017 defensive line of the Buccaneers were referred to by some as terrible, horrible, or any other adjective ever created to describe something bad. Not really something a team wants to hear of their defensive front.
So the Bucs went into free agency looking to bolster that unit. They signed defensive tackle Beau Allen, signed defensive end Vinny Curry after he was released by the Philadelphia Eagles, and also added Mitch Unrein and they traded for defensive Jason Pierre-Paul this past week.
Oh, they still have All-Pro Gerald McCoy anchoring the middle of the line, too.
All of those moves along with GMC has JPP all kinds of excited. Appearing on NFL Network’s Total Access (video below), Pierre-Paul was asked about playing alongside McCoy. He was honest, saying that no one really knows what will happen, but based off of the moves made this offseason he feels the defensive line is already a beast.
We should all be sharing JPP’s excitement.
"It was mixed emotions behind everything, but through it all, I'm very excited."@UDWJPP can't wait to get started after getting traded to the @Buccaneers ⬇️
