Tampa Bay has played well at home against New Orleans

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who currently sit at 5-7, will be hosting the 10-2 New Orleans Saints, this Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. It will be Tampa Bay’s third straight home game.

Both of these teams have gone in completely different directions since their week one matchup in New Orleans. The Saints went on to win 10 straight, while the Buccaneers have lost 7 of their last 10 games. The Saints currently hold the second seed in the NFC, while the Buccaneers are just barely breathing for a wild card spot.

Despite the Buccaneers struggles, the team is 2-2 in the division and is 1-0 at home. Make no mistake about it, this is a big game for Tampa Bay and with a win they would be 1 game out of sixth place with three games remaining.

With it being a divisional matchup, both teams are very familiar with each other and these games often times come down to execution more than anything.

Below are some of the series statistics between these two teams.

All-time series record: Saints lead 32-21.

Last Matchup: Buccaneers won 48-40 in what is known as the “Fitzmagic” game.

Last five games: Buccaneers are 3-2 against the Saints, but 2-0 at home during that stretch.

Home record vs the Saints: 9-14.

Points scored: 88 points scored in their week one matchup was the most combined points by any teams in NFL history.
