Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston and the Uber driver who accused him of groping her back in 2016 have agreed to a settlement.

The driver accused Winston of grabbing her crotch while in the drive-thru of an Arizona restaurant in March 2016. The accusation first surfaced when she told her story to BuzzFeed back in 2017 where she stated she didn’t want money but wanted to come forward to speak up on behalf of the MeToo movement.

She filed a lawsuit against Winston in September seeking $75,000 in damages.

After the NFL conducted their investigation and announced the suspension of Winston in June, the driver released a statement saying she wanted to “highlight the importance of believing women when they have the courage to come forward about sexual assault.”

Winston also released a statement apologizing to the driver for the position he put her in. He also added that he was looking forward to putting it all behind him and “continue to work hard every day to be a positive influence in my community and be the best person, teammate and leader I can be.”

Details of the settlement were not disclosed.
