Bucs vs Panthers: Week 9 Initial Injury Report

Things are off to a bad start for the Buccaneers in the initial week 9 injury report

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Cincinnati Bengals Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Coming off a weekend of drama and story lines, the Buccaneers’ initial injury report is raising some eyebrows - and concerns. Fitzmagic is back in Tampa Bay, but there are some stars that missed practice Wednesday that could be huge blows should they not be able to play in Sunday’s game at Carolina.

Leading receiver Mike Evans was held out with a knee injury. Hopefully this is just a day for him to rest and by Sunday he’ll be good to go.

Jason Pierre-Paul also missed practice, as has become the norm for him on Wednesdays.

Gerald McCoy did return in a limited capacity which is encouraging, while Vita Vea wasn’t listed at all despite getting an MRI Monday for fear of a torn ACL.

Ronald Jones will miss some time due to the pulled hamstring, so don’t expect him to suit up this weekend.

For the Panthers, Cam Newton and Greg Olsen were limited but expect both to play while Julius Peppers was held out.
