NFL Playoffs Schedule, Conference Championship edition

Everything you need to know to watch today’s games.

NFL: New England Patriots-Press Conference Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL playoffs continue today, as the conference championship games will determine who gets to go to the Super Bowl, and who has to stay at home and sulk (and in many cases, play in the Pro Bowl).

The New England Patriots face the Jacksonville Jaguars for the AFC title. That’s a matchup few would have predicted before the season, with the Jaguars looking like bottom-feeders. Instead, they’ve steamrolled through most of the AFC and have been amazing in the playoffs—despite some decidedly mediocre performances from Jake Jortles Blake Bortles. Never underestimate what a great defense and competent offense can do.

In the NFC, a similar story. The Nick Foles-led Philadelphia Eagles take on the Case Keenum-led Minnesota Vikings. This matchup is slightly less surprising from a preseason perspective, though few would have predicted these specific quarterbacks to be at the helm for these games.

SB Nation has an excellent preview if you want to know more about what to expect from these games on the field.
