Brent Grimes, Noah Spence return to practice for Buccaneers

The Bucs got a little healthier today.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered a lot of injuries, but seem to have gotten relatively with the recovery of most of those players. Linebacker Lavonte David was out today, as expected, and he’ll almost certainly miss multiple—but the Bucs are more healthy than we expected.

Most notably, cornerback Brent Grimes and defensive end Noah Spence both participated fully in practice today. Grimes missed the last game and his absence played a large role in the defensive collapse against the Minnesota Vikings, while Spence dislocated his shoulder in that game—but he’s already participating in practice.

Meanwhile, defensive end Jacquies Smith also practiced fully, having recovered from the flu, as is the case for defensive tackle Chris Baker. One surprising non-participant, though, was safety T.J. Ward who was held out with a hip injury. He had to leave Sunday’s game with an injury, too, but it’s not clear whether his participation this weekend is in danger.
