The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ day keeps going from bad to worse. The latest news: Noah Spence dislocated his shoulder in the team’s loss against the Minnesota Vikings, per ESPN’s Jenna Laine.
Spence left the game with a shoulder injury early on, but returned to play—apparently powering through a dislocated shoulder, as he did last year when he played the entire season with his shoulder in a brace. Laine says that Spence will go back to wearing that brace, and that he’ll have an MRI on his shoulder tomorrow.
That shoulder is now a recurring problem for Spence, and that may be the biggest concern for the Bucs: it’s hard to play in the NFL with structural damage to a shoulder that you keep dislocating.
If Spence can’t play or is limited by his shoulder injury, the Bucs will have massive problems getting to the quarterback. Jacquies Smith is the only other defensive end on the roster who has the ability to consistently beat offensive tackles, and he has yet to take the field this season.
