The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have finally played an actual, real, 2017, NFL football game, which means these power rankings aren’t complete hot air. Just mostly.
Still, it’s a Tuesday so we’ll look at a few of them. Who doesn’t want to know how national media types view the Bucs, especially after a dominant win?
But now, after they crushed the Chicago Bears, the national media are starting to believe in the Bucs. SB Nation’s Adam Stites, for instance, places the Bucs all the way up at number six—up seven spots.
Most other analysts aren’t quite that high on Tampa Bay, but they do like what they’ve seen. NFL.com’s Elliot Harrison ranked them 10th, CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco 8th, Sports Illustrated ranked them eighth too, while ESPN has them coming in at number 11. Only Yahoo! and the Sporting News aren’t true believers yet: they have the Bucs at 13 and at 14 respectively.
Don’t worry, though, a few more wins and the Bucs will soar up the boards of every analyst out there.
