The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed cornerback Mariel Cooper and waived running back Quayvon Hicks, the team announced today.
Cooper was an undrafted free agent out of The Citadel last year who was originally signed by Washington, but did not make the roster. At 5’11”, 192 lbs. he has okay size, and that’s about all I know of him.
Hicks never really got a shot. Despite being listed as a running back, he’s more of a fullback, and the Bucs may not even carry one on the regular season roster.
So this is just your regular preseason roster churn that happens every other day, with players who have next to no shot of making the final cuts. They might make it on the practice squad, though.
