Buccaneers sign receiver Shaq Hill, waive Jhajuan Seales

Seales didn’t last long with the Bucs.

Well, that didn’t last long. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have already waived wide receiver Jhajuan Seales with an injury after signing him on Sunday. So much for his potential, at least for now.

To replace him, the team signed Shaq Hill, an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Washington who spent part of this offseason with the Houston Texans. Hill was pretty productive in his senior season, catching 77 balls for 1,157 yards and 17 touchdowns. At 5’10”, 180 lbs. he’s not the biggest receiver around, though, and it seems unlikely he’ll make much of a dent on the depth chart.

Unless he can make his mark as a kickoff returner. He returned 94 kickoffs in college, including two for touchdowns, which should be enough to get him a look at that position. The Bucs don’t have any clear-cut leaders at the kick returner positions, so he could actually win a roster spot there.
