Buccaneers sign a tackle and a cornerback

The Bucs replaced a few injured players.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed a tackle and a cornerback after Thursday night’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bucs announced that tackle Austin Albright and cornerback Vernon Harris will join the team, for now.

Albrecht went undrafted out of Utah State this year, where he started 25 games. At 6’5”, 300 lbs. he has pretty good size, and that’s basically all I know about him.

Harris was an undrafted free agent out of Dartmouth last year, and was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs. He missed his rookie season with an injury. At 6’1”, 197 lbs. he’s one of the biggest cornerbacks on the Bucs’ roster, so that’s an interesting trend change.

The Bucs waived cornerback Maurice Fleming and tackle Cole Gardner with injuries to make room for these two players. But they’ll probably waive Albrecht and Harris at the end of preseason, too.
