Jameis Winston really likes O.J. Howard

And DeSean Jackson, too.

Jameis Winston is a pretty excitable guy, and I’ve never heard him speak about his fellow players in anything but glowing terms. So perhaps the fact that he told NFL Network’s Tiffany Blackmon that he really likes his shiny new targets: first-round draft pick O.J. Howard and free agent addition DeSean Jackson.

"They're dynamic," Winston told her. "We haven't had a true deep threat guy in Tampa Bay and now we have DeSean. So we're excited to throw him a couple bombs. O.J., man, he's just a specimen. We're privileged to have O.J. Howard.

"We're happy to have O.J. What he's going to do to that team is going to be amazing. This is the fastest, most athletic 6-6, 255 guy I've ever seen in my life. It's unreal."

Unreal indeed. Jackson’s going to be special and open up a lot of things underneath, but O.J. Howard might be the more transformative player in the long term. Not just because he’s likely to last longer in Tampa, but because it’s really hard to find explosive tight ends who can also block—it gives an offensive coordinator and their quarterback so much tactical flexibility, it’s going to be really exciting to watch.
