Buccaneers and Jaguars will hold joint practices again

The two teams hold a join practice for the second straight years.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars just announced that they’ll hold joint practices in training camp. One on Monday, August 14 and one on Tuesday, August 15, in the lead-up to their week two preseason game on Thursday, August 17, which will be nationally televised on ESPN.

The Bucs and Jaguars held joint practices last year, too, which apparently went well enough for a repeat. Joint practices have been increasingly popular in recent years, perhaps because Bill Belichick started doing them, and teams love copying Belichick.

The Jaguars are coming off a disastrous 3-13 season, and have a new head coach in Doug Marrone. The Bucs are hoping to make the jump to the playoffs after a promising 9-7 season.

Adding some spice to the mix this year: the Bucs are featured on Hard Knocks, which means HBO will presumably be filming the joint practices and featuring some of the drama on their show. Good fun.
