Buccaneers preseason schedule: Opponents, nationally televised game announced

The Buccaneers get one nationally televised game this preseason.

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Jacksonville Jaguars Logan Bowles-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ preseason schedule has been announced. To be specific: the opponents and the weeks when they’ll face those opponents have been announced, but the exact date and time of each game has yet to be determined.

The Bucs will open the preseason at the Cincinnati Bengals, whom they played two years ago as well. Their week two game against the Jacksonville Jaguars will be nationally televised on ESPN, with the two teams facing off on Thursday, August 17 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

The Bucs then host the Cleveland Browns in week three, and Washington in week four. This makes their schedule nearly identical to last season’s, with the only difference being the Bucs traveling to the Philadelphia Eagles instead of Cincinnati Bengals in 2016.

The Bucs will likely hold a joint practice with the Jaguars, as they’ve expressed interest in one joint practice this preseason. The Bucs held a joint practice with the Jaguars in week two last season, too.
