The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may or may not be after cornerback A.J. Bouye, who seems to be heading for a pretty interesting couple of days. ESPN’s Jenna Laine notes that she’s heard some Bouye-Bucs interest, backing up what Michael DiRocco said of hearing some links as well.
Bouye is apparently drawing a lot of interest, though that may or may not just be his agent trying to manufacture a market. Which is what Pewter Report thinks of this latest rumor, so there’s that.
Interest in DJax is real.

Interest in AJ Bouye & Nick Mangold is not. https://t.co/ZttK9qwIlb
I would be very surprised if the Bucs jumped on him. Not only does he have just one year of productive play, the Bucs also don’t really have a need at cornerback, nor real room for Bouye.
Bouye started 11 games last season, making a whopping 68 total tackles and intercepting one pass. At 25, he’s still young — but also likely to command quite a bit of money, and the Bucs generally shy away from highly competitive markets.
