Mike Evans had a pretty good year: , his first Pro Bowl selection, and now he’s won Performance Play of the Year for his one-handed catch against the Atlanta Falcons. That was announced at yesterday’s NFL Honors show. The one where he got leveled by Keanu Neal and somehow still hung on. This one:

Wow. #ATLvsTB #TNF https://t.co/zveZCu8k3V
That catch is going to be on Mike Evans highlight reels for a very long time. Which is a bit of a shame, because it was effectively meaningless: the Bucs were down 33-14 at the end of the third quarter and never looked like they were getting back into it. These amazing catches are always better when they actually impact games, which this one certainly did not.
Still, though, it’s an amazing feat of athleticism and reactivity. Odell Beckham Jr. has nothing on this play, and Evans more than deserved this award.
