Jameis Winston has recovered from his shoulder injury, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback’s first half back is a perfect summary of his play style. Explosive and exciting, with some inconsistency, and a sniff of “what the hell kind of play was that”?
Here’s the latter, leading to a Green Bay Packers touchdown.

That’s Winston’s Achilles heel: not knowing when to take a loss. If he just takes a sack there, everything is fine. Instead he tries to make the impossible happen, which mostly makes him look silly and the Bucs lose games.
Winston will likely keep doing this for the rest of his career. Brett Favre never learned, after all, and Winston plays a lot like that Packers legend. The key for Favre was to outweigh his WTF-moments with great, explosive plays. Here’s to hoping Winston learns to do that, too.
