The Tampa Bay Buccaneers do not have a good reputation right now. That h appens when you’re 4-9, particularly when you keep losing or even getting blown out when you play on prime time.
The Bucs have a chance to at least right that ship today: a solid win against the Falcons in front of a Monday night audience would leave the public with an impression of a quality Bucs team for the future. Whether that team needs a new coach or not.
Of course, a loss today would probably cement that whole needing-a-new-coach thing, particularly if it’s an embarrassing loss. The Glazers do not like looking like fools on national television, even if that’s exactly what keeps happening with their team. Year after year after year.
Maybe this time things will be different, though. Monday night football can do weird things to football teams, and the Bucs may just run away with the game if they can catch a few luck breaks.
