The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets are perfectly balanced at half time: 3-3, a score befitting what has to be the most boring game of football I’ve ever watched.
Josh McCown and Ryan Fitzpatrick are starting at quarterback, playing against their former team. Neither quarterback is doing much, but their performance has been extremely similar: both led one long drive ending in a field goal, and no other scores. Both touched one interception, on consecutive plays even. And both quarterbacks are scrambling around as they struggle to throw the ball down the field.
If we can say anything positive about this game, it’s that the Bucs defense has at least performed pretty well. With two sacks and one interception the pass defense is certainly having its best game of the year, and the Jets run game isn’t really going places either.
Here’s to hoping the second half will be a little more entertaining, though. And by ‘entertaining’ I mean ‘ending with a Bucs win’.
