Gerald McCoy is a very good football player, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are lucky to have him. That’s the consensus among basically everyone except a small contingent of Bucs fans, for some weird reason.
The latest bit of praise for McCoy comes courtesy of Pro Football Focus, who have named him to their first quarter All-Pro team as one of two defensive tackles.

McCoy only has one sack through four games, but that’s not out of character for him: he’s always had far more pressures than sacks. He still manages to make a massive game-to-game impact. He leads the team with five tackles for loss and seven registered quarterback hits.
Interestingly, Pro Football Focus also lists two other Bucs as honorable mentions: Demar Dotson at right tackle, and rookie Kendell Beckwith at middle linebacker. It’ll be really interesting to see what happens when Kwon Alexander and Lavonte David come back from injury. Will they find a way to keep Beckwith on the field?
