Ah, power rankings. How joyful you are when things are going well, how depressing when they’re not. So, mostly, the latter for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their fans. The Bucs are awful, is what everyone thinks--and rightly so, after four consecutive losses.
We don’t really need to go through them to get it, but let’s do so anyway. SB Nation’s Adam Stites: #27. NFL.com’s Elliot Harrison: #28. ESPN: #24. CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco: #28. Yahoo! Sports’ Frank Schwab: #28. And the Washington Post’s Frank Schwab: #28.
That’s a remarkably tight grouping of rankings, with ESPN the lone outlier, putting the Bucs at the soaring heights of number 24 overall. Wow. What an honor.
I don’t know what else to tell you: the Bucs are 2-5, they’ve lost four games in a row, and there’s no real reason to believe they’ll suddenly turn it around. The Bucs suck. Again. Still. Sigh.
