The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be without their top two cornerbacks today, but are otherwise mostly healthy. The official inactives for the Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers, who play each other at 1:00 p.m. today, saw no surprises.
The Bucs will be without cornerbacks Brent Grimes, Josh Robinson, and Robert McClain. That means second-year players Vernon Hargreaves, Ryan Smith and Javien Elliott will likely see the bulk of the cornerback snaps today. Of these, only Hargreaves has gotten significant playing time this season—and he was benched for McClain just last week.
Other than that, the Bucs are healthy. Jameis Winston will play through the shoulder injury that’s been bothering him for two weeks, as expected.
The Panthers’ most significant absence is center Ryan Kalil. The Panthers line is already iffy, and missing Kalil will give Gerald McCoy and company an opportunity for a field day. Whether they can take advantage of that is another thing entirely, though. Meanwhile, the Panthers see Luke Kuechly return from his concussion issues.
