The Buffalo Bills will get wide receiver Jordan Matthews back with a broken thumb today, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The Bills play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1:00 p.m. ET.
#Bills WR Jordan Matthews (broken thumb) is expected to play today with a special glove vs. #Bucs, sources say. 2 wks earlier then expected.

Matthews missed the last two weeks with a thumb injury, but is still their most prolific wide receiver. Tight end Charles Clay and running back LeSean McCoy have more receiving yards, but the former’s been ruled out for today’s game—which means the Bills desperately needed Matthews back.
Matthews joined the Bills this season after three years with the Philadelphia Eagles, though he hasn’t brought them that much production yet.
Matthews’ return gives Tyrod Taylor at least one competent receiver to work with, but the Bills’ passing game is still far from impressive. Then again, neither is the Bucs defense. Whoever finds some competence somewhere, wins.
