Jameis Winston injured his shoulder against the Arizona Cardinals, which forced him to leave the game. He did not return, but it seems that injury may not be all that serious: Winston told reporters that he’d be back “soon”.
Bucs QB Jameis Winston on his shoulder injury: “I’ll be back. Soon.” No details but said he wanted to play in game today.

Winston landed awkwardly on his shoulder early in the game and was able to play for a little longer before having to leave. He was seen warming up on the sidelines repeatedly, but never returned to play. Dirk Koetter said at half time that Winston could have played in an emergency, which also suggests his injury shouldn’t be too serious.
Writing for the San Diego Tribune, former NFL physician David Chao suggested Winston had suffered a mild AC sprain that shouldn’t keep him out for long. That would be consistent with his poor throws after the injury, and his warming up on the sidelines. It could also mean we’ll see him back on the field next Sunday, when the Bucs face the Buffalo Bills.
If not, Ryan Fitzpatrick will have to take over.
