The 2-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the 2-3 Arizona Cardinals tonight, as the former try to get back into the NFC South race and the latter try to prevent their season from going down the drain.
The Arizona Cardinals looked like near-Super Bowl champions in recent seasons, but fell off a cliff this season. Carson Palmer appears to be done, the running game is nowhere to be found, and the defense is mediocre at best. The Cardinals are, honestly, one of the worst teams in the NFL.
Meanwhile, the Bucs are just two-point favorites in today’s game. Because while they aren’t as bad as Arizona, they’re pretty disappointing, too. The offense hasn’t turned into the explosive unit we hoped, while the defense has once again struggled to generate a consistent pass rush, and the secondary has been a particular problem.
Maybe that changes today: they face a terrible offense and get T.J. Ward and Lavonte David back from injury. Maybe the Cardinals are just what the Bucs need to get back on track. We’ll see today.
