Eli Manning is not known for his rushing prowess, exactly. That didn’t stop him from running in for a touchdown when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense gave him an opening, though.
That’s actually the sixth rushing touchdown of Manning’s career, and his first since 2014. So it’s not as ludicrous as you’d think—every quarterback can scramble a little in the right circumstances.
The Bucs defense had been shutting down Eli Manning and the Giants offense early in the game, jumping out to a 13-0 lead and basically destroying the Giants offensive line. No such luck here, though, as the fickle Bucs defense started to break down a little in the second quarter.
The Bucs lead 20-10 as the teams head into halftime.
