Watch Jacquizz Rodgers make the Panthers defense look foolish

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are struggling early against the Carolina Panthers, especially on offense, and especially when Jameis Winston tries to do things. With two turnovers in thirteen dropbacks, Winston needs to tighten things up a little.

Alternatively, the Bucs could just give the ball to Jacquizz Rodgers a bunch more. Because this is what happens when they do.

Rodgers now has 46 rushing yards on just eight carries and has been impressive behind a line that has struggled to consistently run block this season. Getting Demar Dotson back at right tackle certainly helped there, too.

Mostly, though, the Bucs need to just not turn the ball over. That’s easier said than done, of course, but turnovers have been a consistent concern for Jameis Winston throughout his entire career. Part of the reason is Winston’s inconsistent accuracy, which shows up on several occasions each game, usually as a result of poor footwork.

Hopefully, Winston can fix that this offseason. Otherwise the Bucs are going to have to rely on running the ball a whole lot more than they really want to.
