Buccaneers training camp 2016: Hargreaves stuck with the second team

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Training Camp Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continued their training camp today after their day off. We have all of the notes you need from today’s practice.

Apparently, Cameron Brate is the top tight end in training camp right now. That, at least, is what head coach Dirk Koetter said after camp. Austin Seferian-Jenkins told Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times the right things afterwards (“I don’t worry about Cameron Brate, I worry about myself”), but that has to be disappointing for him. I hope.

What else happened at Bucs training camp today? A quick overview.

  • Vernon Hargreaves got some playing time with the ones, as Koetter mentioned on Monday, but didn’t stay there for the entire practice, according to Greg Auman. It seems Jude Adjei-Barimah is putting up a real fight, but you can only hold of the number one draft pick for so long.
  • Kenny Bell and Russell Shepard were making some plays in practice, according to Rick Brown. Maybe Adam Humphries being named the team’s third receiver got them going.
  • Joe Hawley was back at center today, according to Greg Auman. Perhaps Evan Smith’s challenge was a little short-lived.

Fight!

Play of the day!

Lavonte David is boss.
