Austin Seferian-Jenkins gives up Twitter until a playoff win

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Austin Seferian-Jenkins apparently realized that clowning on fans on Twitter, or threatening to fight them, isn’t a good look, no matter how ugly the things they tweet at you are. He apologized for his tweets this week, and has now decided to give up on the platform all together — until a playoff win, at least.

Seferian-Jenkins has a chance to play a big role in an eventual playoff win, but he has some work to do before the Bucs get there. He’s been contrite after getting sent off the practice field this past week for not knowing where to line up, and he’s consistently said all the right things. But injuries have shortened both of his first two seasons, and a few minor but high-profile on-field mistakes have turned fans against him.

But Austin Seferian-Jenkins’ 21 catches for 338 yards and four touchdowns last year in just seven games were pretty impressive, and he’s easily the most impressive athlete among all Bucs tight ends. He just has to put it all together. We’ll have to wait and see whether he can do that.
