The Denver Broncos will induct John Lynch into their Ring of Honor, the team announced yesterday. A few months earlier, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had announced that Lynch would be inducted into their Ring of Honor as well. The Bucs' early announcement was likely an unsuccessful move to help get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The teams have yet to announce when they'll be inducting John Lynch.
The former safety played his final four seasons for the Broncos, making the Pro Bowl in all four years. You don't see players with such short tenures inducted into a team's Ring of Honor very often, but it speaks to the quality of his play in Denver.
Lynch's accolades are getting increasingly impressive. Two Rings of Honor inductions, nine Pro Bowls, three First-team All-Pro appearances, two Man of the Year awards and a Super Bowl. Now if only the Hall of Fame would open its ranks to him.
