The Atlanta Falcons are expected to sign center Alex Mack. According to Pro Football Talk, the two sides are "very close" to a deal, confirming a report by Adam Schefter that said they were "closing in."
The four-time Pro Bowler was expected to draw some interest from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but nothing concrete emerged. The Bucs have his old offensive line coach George Warhop, and were repeatedly linked to him when he hit free agency in 2014. It looks like the Bucs weren't interested in paying a large sum of money for a center, when they could just keep the adequate Joe Hawley at the position instead.
The Bucs are looking to upgrade their offensive line, but haven't found anyone to go with yet. The Bucs are looking to be frugal in free agency, though that approach may also simply mean passing up every opportunity to sign a highly-priced veteran.
