The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are "intent" on re-signing Doug Martin, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. He reports that Martin's market includes "at least six teams," which means the Bucs will have a lot of competition for Martin's services.
While the Bucs are "intent" on re-signing Martin, they aren't intent enough to actually meet his contract demands. That doesn't mean other teams will, though. It took DeMarco Murray about a week from the start of the legal tampering period to find a contract he liked on the open market, and that didn't even turn out all that well for the Philadelphia Eagles: he managed just 702 rushing yards in 15 games this past year.
Another reason to doubt that Martin will find a receptive free agent market is that Lamar Miller is only getting offers worth around $4-5 million per year, according to ESPN's Dianna Marie Russini. Miller is more of a receiving and change-of-pace back than Martin, though, and it only takes one team to give the Dougernaut the contract he desires.
