The 6-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the 5-6 San Diego Chargers on Sunday, as both teams hope to hold on to their playoff chances. The Bucs are in better position to make it into the postseason, but the Chargers aren’t out of it yet, either.
The Bucs and Chargers have in fact had very similar seasons. Both of them started slowly, but have improved as the season went on. The Bucs have been more inconsistent, without blowout wins and losses, while the Chargers have kept almost every game close.
The difference is mostly in how the Chargers have won, especially recently. Whereas the Bucs have had to lean on impressive defensive performances, the Chargers rely on a prolific passing game and a high-scoring offense — with a defense that can barely keep up.
Sunday’s game should be fun, then. Both teams are on similar trajectories, fighting for a playoff spot, and very similar in terms of quality. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the game!
