DLT’s Deadlocks - NFL Week 17 Picks

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

It’s the end of another season in Tampa Bay, another year that will have our Buccaneers watching the playoffs on TV along with us (sorry if I don’t subscribe to the seven combinations plus a tie as a likely outcome), but it’s been a year of growth in Tampa Bay and you feel that despite the downturn in December, there’s a lot to be hopeful about in the future.

What you can’t be hopeful about is my weekly picks, which were as bad as the Bucs were in the big easy.

Thankfully, this is the end of the road for my picks segment as well (and maybe for good if Sander is tired of seeing me embarrass the site with my horrible pigskin prognostications).

Anywho, here’s the final week of NFL picks!

Last Week: 8-8 50% Upset Specials 0-3 0%

Season: 146-92 61% Upset Specials: 16-27 37%

Sunday

Upset Special #1 - Ravens 23, Bengals 13 - Well, at least Cincy won’t need to worry about the post season this year.

Upset Special #2 - Texans 30, Titans 13 - Tough break for Mariota and the Flaming Thumbtacks.

Bucs 21, Panthers 13 - Panthers are already talking about the off-season. That tells us where their mindset is.

Colts 23, Jaguars 13 - Indy wraps up another disappointing season.

Upset Special #3: Dolphins 23, Patriots 16 - Miami is back in the playoffs and looking to send a message.

Vikings 20, Bears 13 - Minnesota has had a rough year with Prince’s death and the Vikings returning to mediocrity.

Bills 23, Jets 16 - Rex Ryan-less Bills look to at least make it to .500.

Cowboys 23, Eagles 13 - There may be a Tony Romo siting in this one.

Steelers 23, Browns 16 - Nice the Browns got themselves a win. No one deserves to go oh-fer.

Falcons 49, Saints 34 - Falcs do what they do, so do the Saints.

Upset Special #3 - Giants 23, Redskins 20 - And down go the Bucs’ slim playoff hopes.

Cardinals 24, Rams 16 - Even without Jeff Fisher, the Scams can’t buy a win.

Broncos 27, Raiders 13 - First game without Carr doesn’t go well for Oakland.

Chiefs 23, Chargers 16 - Chiefs wrap up a perfect season against division foes and an AFC West title.

Seahawks 24, 49ers 14 - Seattle gets their final tuneup for the playoffs.

Sunday Night

Lions 34, Packers 31 - Someone forgot to tell the Lions they’re supposed to step aside for the Packers.
