The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will get one of their injured players back against the Carolina Panthers. Right tackle Demar Dotson has been cleared from the concussion protocol after missing three games, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Dotson’s absence may have been one of the team’s most significant problems over the past three weeks, with backup Gosder Cherilus visibly struggling and allowing a pair of sacks and a lot of pressure late in a close loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Of course, it’s now too late for Dotson to make a big impact, as the Bucs are all but eliminated from the playoffs. but it’s still good to see him back. While Dotson’s has had his own struggles this season, he’s clearly the best right tackle the Bucs have on the roster and should be the starter for a couple more seasons.
The Bucs have been especially hard-hit by injuries this year, which is one reason for optimism as the Bucs head into the offseason and get healthier.
