The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have another player mourning the loss of a loved one. Defensive end William Gholston lost his father to cancer last night, he announced on Instagram.
Gholston is at least the fourth player to lose a loved one during the year, though there’s likely a few more losses we never heard about.
It’s not clear whether Gholston will play against the New Orleans Saints tomorrow, both because of his tragic loss and his dislocated elbow which has kept him out of practice this week.
Our thoughts are with Gholston and his family.
