The San Diego Chargers are likely going to miss two key defensive players on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Outside linebacker Jerry Attaochu and cornerback Brandon Flowers missed their second consecutive day of practice with a foot injury and concussion, respectively.
One report earlier this week said that Attaochu will miss the entire season with his foot injury. Flowers has been out with that concussion since week 10, and it’s not looking like he’ll be healthy for Sunday’s game.
Backup inside linebacker Jatavis Brown and backup receiver Tyrell Williams also missed their second consecutive practice and are likely to miss the game.
As for the Bucs, they’re mostly healthy. Backup center Evan Smith will almost certainly miss Sunday’s game, as will starting safety Chris Conte, but other than that everyone should play. That includes defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, who missed two practices but has said that he will play.
