The Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football tonight, as the division rivals face off for what could amount to the most important game for the NFC South lead.
The Bucs beat the Falcons in week one in Atlanta, but since then the two teams’ fortunes have reversed. The Bucs have struggled to win games, with Jameis Winston playing some highly inconsistent football and injuries destroying hitting their team very hard. They’re now 3-4 and hoping to hang on to a competitive standing in the NFC South.
Meanwhile, the Falcons took control of the division and have been racking up win after win. They’re now 5-3 and could take a definitive lead in the division with a win tonight. One upside for Tampa Bay: they do play at home. Downside: they haven’t won at home all season long.
