Seahawks-Buccaneers final injury report: Brent Grimes likely to play, Earl Thomas out

NFL: Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are likely to have Brent Grimes on the field this Sunday. The cornerback was able to practice fully today despite leaving last Sunday’s game with a quad injury, and has been listed as questionable on the injury report, signalling that he’s likely but not certain to be able to start against the Seattle Seahawks.

The only player the Bucs are certain to miss is backup center Evan Smith, who did not practice this week. Starting left guard Kevin Pamphile will return after passing a concussion test, while running back Jacquizz Rodgers should also play in his first game in a couple of weeks.

As for the Seattle Seahawks, they’re a lot more banged-up. They’ll be missing two key defensive players in All-Pro safety Earl Thomas and Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Bennett. They might also be missing starting cornerback DeShawn Shead after he missed every practice this week, but he is listed as questionable, which implies he at least has a good chance of playing.

The Seahawks will also be without running backs Troymaine Pope and C.J. Prosise, though that shouldn’t impact their running back that much with Thomas Rawls as the starter.
