Gerald McCoy, Doug Martin, Robert Ayers listed as doubtful

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have ruled out just one player for Monday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers: fourth wide receiver Cecil Shorts III. No other players have been officially listed as out.

However, many of the players listed as doubtful are highly unlikely to play, considering almost none of them practiced this week. That includes defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, defensive end Robert Ayers, running backs Doug Martin and Charles Sims and defensive tackle Clinton McDonald.

The Bucs’ defensive line problems might be alleviated a little by a possible Noah Spence return, as the defensive end is listed as questionable and practiced on a limited basis today. Tight end Brandon Myers should have no issue playing after participating fully today, while Luke Stocker’s participation is more in doubt: he’s listed as doubtful, but did practice on a limited basis throughout the week.

Other than those rather significant injuries, the Bucs are mostly healthy, though. With the Panthers missing Cam Newton, Michael Oher and Jonathan Stewart, Tampa Bay may actually beat Carolina — or at least beat the Carolina offense.
