The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers just released their list of inactive players for today’s game, and it’s basically what we expected.
The Bucs will be missing running back Doug Martin, defensive tackle Clinton McDonald and defensive end Robert Ayers. Gerald McCoy will play, as reported yesterday, but his snaps will be monitored. The Bucs also get tight end Luke Stocker back.
As for the 49ers, the only significant player they’ll be missing is starting running back Carlos Hyde. Mike Davis will get the start in his place. Glenn Dorsey is also inactive, but the defensive lineman has barely played a role this year.
The Bucs will start Jacquizz Rodgers in Doug Martin’s place, with Akeem Spence starting for Clinton McDonald and Davonte Lambert for Robert Ayers. In addition, Cecil Shorts III will start at wide receiver, as Vincent Jackson was placed on injured reserve earlier this week.
One minor surprise inactive for the Bucs: cornerback Johnthan Banks, who was starting just a season ago but has yet to get any playing time on defense this season.
Buccaneers inactives: RB Doug Martin, DT Clinton McDonald, DE Robert Ayers, QB Ryan Griffin, CB Johnthan Banks, T Leonard Wester, G Caleb Benenoch
49ers inactives: QB Christian Ponder, RB Carlos Hyde, WR Keshawn Martin, CB Marcus Cromartie, OL John Theus, TE Je’Ron Hamm, DL Glenn Dorsey
