Buccaneers and Broncos tied after one quarter

NFL: Denver Broncos at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jonathan Dyer-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Denver Broncos are tied after one quarter, 7-7. Both teams scored a touchdown, and Roberto Aguayo did not miss the PAT — which is worth a mention, too.

The Buccaneers got off to a terrible start, with Jameis Winston throwing an interception on his first pass attempt and Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian turning that into a touchdown immediately.

The Bucs defense has actually held up well, so far, though. Trevor Siemian got a touchdown on his first play of the game, but that came from just 11 yards out. Other than that, the Buccaneers defense has mostly stifled Denver’s offensive effort.

On offense, the Bucs have been a bit up-and-down. That first interception didn’t look too good, and the offensive line has struggled to cope with the Broncos’ pass rush and blitzes. But they did drive 75 yards for a touchdown on their second drive, with Winston scrambling for the touchdown under heavy pressure.

So far, so close as we head to the second quarter.
