Jameis Winston has started slow in every single game so far this season, and that happened yet again against the Denver Broncos. On his first dropback of the game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback threw an interception to Aqib Talib.

This was, quite simply, a bad throw. It came out too far in front of Adam Humphries, who did seem to slow down a little, and Aqib Talib just needed to catch the ball. Winston has generally been more accurate this season, but his inaccurate throws have led to a lot of interceptions — seven so far this year. He might be the most turnover-prone quarterback in the NFL right now, other than Ryan Fitzpatrick.
These slow starts are getting increasingly frustrating, but at least we know that Winston will generally be fine by the end of the first quarter. He’ll have to find a way to be fine before that, though, because the result of this interception was a Broncos touchdown, just one play later.
There’s no easy answer, here. Winston just has to be more accurate with his throws, and that’s a long process — something they’ve been working on since he came into the NFL.
