The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 2-3 and now somewhat competitive in the NFC South. Or at least, as competitive as a 2-3 team can be in a division that is led by a 4-2 team. The Bucs have beaten the division-leading Atlanta Falcons once, though, so surely that counts for something.
Not so much if you look at various NFL power rankings across the web, though. 2-3 is still a losing record after all, and little changed this weekend to make people see the Bucs in a new light.
Still, there were some changes in these power rankings. NFL.com ranked the Bucs 21st, up one spot from last week. CBS Sports somehow dropped them four spots to number 25, while Fox Sports went with a two-spot drop to 26. Only Yahoo! Sports (21) and SB Nation’s Adam Stites (27) kept the Bucs in the same spot as last week.
Overall, NFL analysts still think the Buccaneers are kind of a bad team. It’s up to them to change that perception this weekend.
