Mel Kiper has put out his first mock draft of the year. He has the Tampa Bay Buccaneers doing the predictable thing: picking a defensive back to fix their porous secondary. Surprisingly, Florida's Vernon Hargreaves is still available in this mock, something we don't see very often, and that's who Kiper has the Bucs taking.
This is just a truly gifted cover man, with the ability to press or play off and really just mirror a pass-catcher all over the place. He's been doing it since he arrived in Gainesville. The Bucs do have a need at cornerback, but there isn't a team in the NFL who wouldn't want this kind of talent on the roster.
There's not much to say here: if Hargreaves is available, the Bucs should draft him. He's too good to pass up, and he fills a massive need regardless of the defensive system the Bucs will end up playing under whoever their new coach will be. The Bucs may also want to look at some pass-rushers, but there are very few of those worthy of a top ten pick in this year's draft, and they'll most likely be gone by the time Jason Licht gets to turn in his selection.
