The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have to be pleased with Jameis Winston so far. Beyond the expected positive noises out of the coaches and teammates, the people observing training camp have been universally positive about the rookie quarterback's performance so far this offseason. Roy Cummings even called Jameis Winston yesterday "arguably as sharp and accurate as he's ever been in a Bucs uniform."

That Winston had an impressive day out was universally shared by everyone commenting on his performance, both media and fans. Oddly enough, Pewter Report tallied him as doing far better in 11-on-11s and 7-on-7s than 1-on-1s, completing barely half of his passes in the latter scenario while only seeing a few incompletions in the former. That didn't stop Pewter Report from noting that Winston was "poised, confident and in control of the offense" and "careful with the football" -- a good sign given the turnover problems he had in his last year in college.
At this point it's still too early to say anything definitive about Winston's development as a passer, but early indications are good.
