These Tampa Bay Buccaneers don't look like last year's Bucs at all. The offensive line looks great, the running game is strong, and Jameis Winston was pin-point on his first drive. 80 yards, eight plays, touchdown, 7-0: that was what the Bucs did to open the game. And they did it without a single negative play. The highlight was a 30-yard Doug Martin run -- Martin, who looks more and more like his rookie self with every game.
The team's second drive was wasted by penalties, but Winston and the offensive line continued to look good -- and they were a Tim Wright drop removed from turning 2nd-and-30 into first-and-ten.
Similarly, the Bucs defense started very impressively, forcing a four-and-out. Kwon Alexander stood out in particular, with two tackles showing off his sideline-to-sideline speed and solidifying his position as the team's starting middle linebacker. They ended Andy Dalton's second drive with a sack and a three-and-out. The one downside: special teams has been a bit of a disaster.
But simply put: the Bucs look terrific, and it's weirding me out. More of this, please!
